A sketchbook page inspired by a beach visit during my trip to the West Country.
Exploring the shoreline, I discovered some earth pigment and decided to use it in my sketchbook. I created a simple plein air sketch of the beach, with the beach!
This isn't about artistic perfection. Instead, it's about capturing a sense of place and by using materials gathered from the landscape, another layer of memory and meaning is added to my sketchbook.
