Helen Handley Houghton
Helen Handley Houghton is a board member of the Academy of American Poets and of The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation. A conservatory-trained pianist, she graduated from The Emma Willard School, has a B.A. from the University of Utah, an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of California at Berkeley and is co-editor of The Music Lover’s Poetry Anthology (Persea Books). She edited The Lover’s Quotation Book (Pushcart Press) and co-edited Child: A Literary Companion (Pushcart Press). She has been Managing Editor of The Hudson Review and of The Pushcart Prize, a teacher for 20 years, and a director of both Poets House and Poets & Writers.
